Modern day 626 food. This place serves an authentic peking duck dish. A must try if you like strong strong flavors.
Food:
The duck had amazing presentation. We had way too much food for me to go over but overall all the dishes were pretty good. My favorite was the eggplant dish. They battered the eggplant lightly so it had a slight crisp to it. I'm use to the southern style flash fry with no batter.
Service:
Staff was friendly and fairly attentive.
Environment:
A lot of smokers outside the restaurant. Parking is a complete disaster. The interior has decent decor and suitable for family gatherings.
Price:
Fairly priced for the style of food. Will be back to try other menu items.

My family came here for our Mother's Day celebration. We ordered a total of 7 items between the 5 of us to share.
The three appetizer we got were spicy steamed cold noodles, hot and sour noodles, and cold garlic pork belly. For around $6-7 each, the flavors were authentic and portions were generous. Out of the three, the pork belly was my favorite with its thinly sliced pork belly topped with a sweet and spicy garlicky sauce.
For the mains, we got sizzling eggplants, lamb chops, pickled vegetables fish pot, and braised tendons. The sizzling eggplants was coated in a yummy tangy garlicky sauce that went really well with rice. Unfortunately, the rest of the dishes was too heavy on salt. The lamb chop especially was so salty to the point of being inedible.
We took a good amount of leftovers home and were able to dilute down the salt by mixing it in a stir fry with other vegetables. If possible, ask for 50-75% less salt! -

So far, this is my most favorite Beijing restaurant in San Gabriel Valley. Flavor is not overwhelmingly peppery hot so you get to taste the full flavor of each dishes. I have always thought and connected Beijing dishes with spicy 'give me a glass of cold water now!' kind of image. They will adjust the spiciness of Roast fish with chopped hot chili to as low range of being mild. Fried duck bone with cumin is a must get dish at only $5.99. Which brings me to want to mention the prices here, very reasonable considering most dishes looks to me like a lot of preparation involved with chopping and dicing. If you order Beijing Roast Duck Combo at $48.99 it comes with very thin pancakes that are freshly made (I have had some at a Peking duck specialty restaurant that came stiff as a sheet of paper) with trimmings of cucumber, green onion, and special sauce. What you also get served is the savory Duck Soup with Nappa Cabbge and firm tofu. For those of you who may not like even a bit of spiciness, there are non-spicy dishes but then again why go to this type of restaurant....unless you are like my husband who was forced to come along but that's another story. Worth every penny. Service is very good and staff are friendly.
Note: Parking can be prime. The pancakes served with Peking duck are paper thin, we started to wrap our duck with two (2) layers of it and depleting our supply of pancakes. Called out server over to complain until he noticed we were using more than one pancake. Make sure you separate it carefully...lol -

If you want to get the Beijing Duck here, you need to make a reservation for it early in the morning. Do not expect to show up and for it to be available. It is also possible to call before you arrive and get your name on the waitlist, which is typically 6-8 parties long.
Some of their highlights include the F1 House Lamb Skewers, only $1.50 each for a good portion of meat with cumin flavor. The D5 Sizzling Eggplant was a large portion, and since it is fried the flavor combines the eggplant with the light fried breading. And a unique dish, the E17 Candied Sweet Potatoes is fun. It's entirely starch, sweet coating on sweet potatoes, and if you aren't careful it can get messy quickly. The dish of water is included to break the strands of candied coating that trail off of each piece.
And some items to skip (not good or much better at other places) include the frog pot (small and lacking in flavor), cumin lamb, sizzling lamb, garlic shredded pork, tomato noodles, and dragon roll. And just FYI the "Beijing Beer" on the menu actually means Yanjing Beer. While not technically wrong (since Beijing used to be called Yanjing), there is another beer called Beijing Beer and that is not what is served here. -

Big big menu! It took me sometime to read it all lol The restaurant itself is clean, spacious and bright. I ordered a few dishes to go. They were all pretty good, but all taste very similar. Favorite was dry chili fried chicken bone. Skip Beijing fried pancake; it was hard and bland.
